In the discussion after the film, I was struck by the fact that the first comment was one of empathy for the parents. I had to counter that in the madness and horror of the world, children are tragically and inexplicably ignored. I even noticed that many adults are no longer helpless. The director insisted that they must be reintegrated into a “good democratic society”, and even that they should not notice their terrible actions (they have good intentions). Nevertheless, his film feels like an autopsy on the vulnerability of adults in need, but also an ode to children. P. S.
